What I see and what anybody with half a brain will see, is a happy dog running around, off lead, loving life and under control. But training like this the RSPCA, DEFRA and DOGS TRUST will tell you is cruel.
Why you ask ????
Because Bailey is wearing a e collar and everytime he is called, the e collar goes off. It’s cruel because their agenda is to tell you that, because millions of pounds has gone into promoting Purely Positive Training and e collars don’t fit into that.
They will tell you these deliver electric shocks, thousands of volts, will go through their body when you shock them and they respond out of fear.
Did Bailey look fearful ????
You see like any tool, there is a right way to use it and a wrong way. More injuries are caused to dogs on flat buckle collars, Flexi leads, head collars, even harnesses then are caused by e collars. So the argument these need to be banned to stop misuse is mute.
Before this Bailey was confined to a lead, he had to explore the world being restricted, he did not get to run through muddy puddles, he did not get to go in brambles and run around like this.
So tell me again, why this is cruel ???
Why is a dog, loving life, off lead, under control, cruel ?
Because he is wearing a e collar ???? That’s not cruel, it’s only cruel to those who do not understand e collars or can’t wrap their head around technology evolving.
if you think this is cruel , you need to go down to a shelter and find out what cruel really is, because this is not cruel.

Couple of things to mention.
E collars are not banned in England or Scotland.
Cheap e collars (particularly from China) should be taken of the shelf. Even on level 1 it sucks.
When purchasing a e collar you want to spend money, don’t cheap out. Cheap e collars are cheap for a reason.
If you can feel level 1 on the e collar, it’s know good for dogs.
Don’t use e collars that have a static shock technology in them. You want one that uses technology similar to that of a tens machine.
NEVER try e collar training yourself without the guidance of a professional.
Before hiring a trainer to help you with a e collar, make sure you watch videos and see how they use it. As mentioned above, if the dog is flinching, in avoidance mode chances are they’re using it as a purely punishment based device and you need to keep searching.
DONT believe the lies some people tell you about e collars. Open your eyes and minds and try it on yourself and look at the dogs wearing them, before you pass judgment. If you don’t understand e collars or have no experience with them, don’t think harshly of someone for using them, ask questions and educate yourself on the subject.
Just because you’ve never needed one for your dog, does not mean that other dogs can’t benefit from them.
