polytechnic institute of new york Virginia Tech: Site and Infrastructure Development exhibit

On March 17, 2012, in conjunction with Imaginations Toy & Furniture Company and Children's Museum of Blacksburg, Virginia Tech Site and Infrastructure Development sponsored a special exhibit. The Enviroscape® was used to demonstrate stormwater pollution as well as the concept of a watershed. The goal of the event was to help children make the connection between their actions and how it impacts the environment. The application of pesticides, fertilizers, pet waste, and oil was simulated; water was sprayed to show how pollutants can be washed away into nearby waterbodies. The event reached approximately 80 children.
